Last weekend I was on the Whitewater River at the entrance to the Park checking the condition of the new stream course, the flood re-aligned everything in the area but suprisingly the fish are still there. I tested the the waters just long enough to freeze my guides up, next weekend I'll be at Illgen Falls on the Baptisim River to take stock of the latest acquisition I'm making for the Parks & Trails Council of MN, to protect sensitive natural areas from development. The property was known as "Rainbow Ray's," Chalet on the Baptisim River. In the near future the property will be managed by the Park and the Chalet will become part of the cabin rental program at Tettegouche State Park. It's over 57 acres in or adjacent to the park with over 2500 feet of shoreline on the Baptisim. I'll be hosting a Booth at the "Great Waters Fly Fishing Expo" in March with the National Park Service. Stop by and learn more about what I do and the properties I protect . You can also register to win a free weekend at "Rainbow Ray's Chalet."
What a great process, we need more of these kinds of programs along our majestic North Shore rivers. This will be a great asset to our area. Thank You. John, owner of Great Lakes Fly Company.
Troutbuddha,
Great news! Centuries of log floats down many of these rivers in the Great Lakes basin have devastated their delicate existence. It is the on going from people like yourself, that will be the savors of the rivers (and indirectly the Great Lakes) and help them back to their grandness. I will definitely stop by your booth. Forever Fly Fishing, Chris
