HAYWARD, Wis. — A Hayward man has set a new musky world record in fly fishing.
Wisconsin wildlife officials say the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum has notified Brad Bohen the 51.25-inch musky he caught in October was a record for a released fish on a 36-pound tippet.
Bohen is a guide and caretaker at the Winneboujou Club on the Brule River. He caught the fish on the Chippewa River above Lake Holcombe and calls it one of the grandest experiences of his life.
Fly fishermen set three other world musky records in Wisconsin in 2008.
Way to go Brad, the musky machine!
