The Brule was running low and clear for the opener, Sunday the water started getting muddy below the ledges. Some nice steelies were hooked on pink eggs and soft hackles in brown and tan, around size 12 to 14's. Not very much split shot. Drift in the deep holes and let them swing out. Also using indicators helped those light hits.
ive never actually been fishing on the brule. id like to go but id need a map of ther river. do you know where i could get one?
I have a link to the DNR map of the Brule River on one of my web pages at

The Brule River Sportsmens has a very nice map that they did that list all the named runs, holes and areas of the Brule. It's worth it for $6 on their website at http://www.bruleriversportsmensclub.com/shop/index.html. I heard they are working on an upper brule map, right now it's the lower section from Brule down river.
You used to be able to buy it at the local convenience store. They closed the store for awhile, but I think it is open again.
Good luck.
thanks for all the help! im going to check it out for sure.
